Whats New with My Site?
Starting on 12/13/01 work has begun. I used my scanner to print out all the wing rib templates onto paper and will make up the ribs in the next few days. This will take some time as one of the ribs has to be made 72 times! There are a lot of ribs in these wings.
I will be using my good old Adjust-o-jig for the wing. If you have one, great, if not better find one now as they are no longer made. This is the best wing jig I have ever seen and I am looking for another on the auction pages for spare parts.

12/15/01 Ribs are coming along now and I will be building the first wing panel this week. I must make 4 outer panels and join them to make the 2 main wings. Once they are joined, the center section of each wing is built in and that's it, wings done!!

1/3/02 Using the good old A-justo-jig I have the first of 4 wing panels ready to finish. I will put photos up as soon as I get my camera back! I am taking a week off from work starting next Mon. I hope to get the top wing done and at least frame up the bottom wing. Time and weather will decide.

1/8/02 The wing is coming along. All ribs for upper wing are in place and the trailing edge and ailerons have been fitted. I need to get the leading edges and wingtips done next. That will do it for the upper wing. I get to start all over again on the bottom wing soon. It is a bit different than the top as it has dihiedral in it and the center section is a bit more complex. Still have a few days of vacation left so I hope to finish the upper and at least get the outer panels done on the lower wing.

1/23/02 As soon as I can I will get photos of the lower wing on the photo page. Wings went together well with no surprizes at all. Next on the list is the landing gear and the tail surfaces. The tail will be pretty fast to build, the gear on the other hand will take some time. You'll see what I mean when I get started on it.

2/15/02 Rudder and elevator are now done. No big deal. So far this model falls together. See photo page for new pics.

3/26/02 Sorry I have been away for awhile. Waiting for parts to arrive so I cget on the fuse and landing gear.
The news is that I now have a Smithy 3 in 1 tool in the shop so I can make all my own metal parts. I have started on the landing gear for the Duck and hope to have some new photos up this weekend. Stay tuned.

3/30/02 Started to work on the main float. Got my parts for the float and fuse from my friend Dion Jones in GA. This saved me some time cutting and he did a nice job on the parts.
Thanks again Dion! Photos on photo page

5/13/02 Sorry once again for the lack of news! Between work and house hunting I have been wrapped up good. I have made most of the landing gear legs and have tried a couple of times to make the A arms. That is a stroy in itself!
Be sure to keep looking in as I WILL get going again here real soon!

8/28/02 Sorry once again for the lapse! Bought a new house and have been busy with all that goes with it. The good news is I now have a 25' X 15' workshop with all the trimmings and it is HEATED!!!!
Also have just installed a 4' X 8' Glass table to build on. A fine gent named Jack Devine has offered to help me with the A arms for the landing gear and I guess I should see them sometime in Sep. I tried many times to make them up, but am not a very good machinist.
I will begin work soon and will have some new photos up as soon as I can find all the attachments for my camera. I know they are in a box somewhere!!
Thanks for understanding.
